Camping Gear

Camping is all about the gear! I love the gear. Packing up before the trip. Using the gear on the trip. Putting it all away in it's spot at home in the basement or garage. There is something about the gear for a camping trip, whether it's car camping or real hiking, that is just really cool. I enjoy the entire process. The planning can take many days and really pulls you in. It's something about the self-sufficiency and the being in nature, far from everything, that is really exciting. Here is the list of all the camping gear I took with me on the last trip.

Tent
Sleeping Bag
2 pillows (I know)
Cooking kit
Camping stove
First aid kit
Cooler
Back pack
Hiking boots
Grill
Water bottle
Air mattress
Toilet supplies

I think that's about it. The camping was great. We had a good time. There was plenty of wood for a fire in the forest that we were able to use. There was a stream near-by that we could use to rinse our dishes (no drinking the stream water without treating it with iodine tables first). There was no rain for this trip, but I was confident my tent would keep me dry if it had come. It was also warm enough in the morning for a dip in the stream. Although, I didn't bring a towel (you should add that) so I had to use my shirt as a towel - which was not super great. Enjoy the gear! I know I can't wait for the warm weather so I can get out there again.
